DNS(Domain Name System)

IP/UDP기반이고, 알려진 포트는 53을 사용한다.

IP - Protocol: UDP (17)

UDP - Destination Source port: domain (53)

DNS resolver cache in Windows XP

Windows XP에서는 DNS를 빠르게 조회할 수 있기 위해서 캐싱을 한다.

 

캐싱된 정보는 ipconfig 명령을 통해 조회해 볼 수 있다.

1. >ipconfig /displaydns
2. 
   Windows IP Configuration
3.          1.0.0.127.in-addr.arpa
            ----------------------------------------
            Record Name . . . . . : 1.0.0.127.in-addr.arpa.
            Record Type . . . . . : 12

참고로 이 캐싱은 시스템의 Dnscache라는 서비스가 담당한다.

  

만약 이 서비스가 중지되어 있다면, 아래와 같이 에러가 나온다.

1. >ipconfig /displaydns
2.  
3. Windows IP Configuration
4.  
5. Could not display the DNS Resolver Cache.

 

서비스이므로 관련된 레지스트리의 위치는 아래와 같다.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache
